Super Soft Brushed Gheri Poncho

Produced using a strong woven fabric called Gheri, this Annapurna poncho is decorated with traditional funky and unique Nepalese patterns. Created by utilizing a well-established weaving technique on backstrap looms, every poncho is hand woven which means that colours and shades of the fabric may vary slightly, giving you a genuinely one-of-a-kind item. We contribute a % of all buys we make from Nepal to Child Rescue Nepal.

These ponchos are ideal for festivals or nights around the campfire. The material is thick and they are warm, it’s like wearing a blanket!

As the ponchos are all handmade, the pattern and colours will vary from poncho to poncho.

Our main supplier in Kathmandu is a member of the Fair Trade Group Nepal and has a social program to train and rehabilitate ‘Kamlari’ girls who have escaped from a life of servitude. Their main premises were destroyed by the earthquake in April 2015 and since then they have been housed in a temporary pre-fab building nearby. We have hugely increased our spending in Nepal since the earthquake and are proud to help this wonderful country to get back onto its feet.
